First Encounter: Wayne and Vicki
Posted by Sadie Shoaf on
Wayne always drifting. Seeking out the next best thing. Moved to this town to start over again. Working as a heavy equipment operator at the mill now. He can lift almost anything, except Sherilyn’s murky heart. Vicki opened new doors for Wayne. She’s the talk of the town. Yet remains very elusive. People say she’s possessed. Hypnotic. Not of this planet. Just touching down. Outside of my window I see you looking off. Being weighed down. Your hair is long now. She licks your flesh. I get goosebumps. But it’s like your not even there. Just a shell...
First Encounter: Under Vicki's influence

I imagine me and Vicki in our most glamorous fringe garments. Meeting at the gate of Heaven and Hell. Two sinners wrapped up and bound by your love. A born star. Vicki an inspiring actress and model is simply passing thru this small town. She sees herself in 10 years front & center on the cover of everyone’s People’s magazine. She crossed paths with Wayne outside The Electric Banana . He promised to make all of her dreams come true. Photos: Katie Krulock Models: Sarah Ackerman / Sadie Shoaf Writing: Sadie Shoaf

Vicki Landrum. I’ll never forget the day we met. Eating her poisonous apple. Her venomous eyes so lethal they struck my core. Photos: Katie Krulock Models: Sarah Ackerman / Sadie Shoaf Writing: Sadie Shoaf
Sherilyn's Return: The Morning After
Posted by Sadie Shoaf on
Woken up again this morning. Alone. I can’t fall back asleep. Racing to get some water. Dry, cracked, and needing refilled. I hold my hands together and pretend that their our hands. Lean pillows up against my back to feel support. It’s almost been a year. I’m still here. Getting strong. Eating 50 hard boiled eggs a day. Drinking whole milk. Eating my Wheaties. Push-ups. Pull-up. You name it. I’ve had enough. Photos: Katie Krulock Styling/Model/Writing: Sadie Shoaf
Sherilyn's Return: Shedding layers

Shedding all my layers. They still stick to me and latch on. Some days I feel like I can scrub and pick them off. Other days you blind me like sun light hitting a mirror. I’d like to shatter it. Walk over the broken pieces. It still cuts me. Photos: Katie Krulock Styling/model/writing : Sadie Shoaf
